约克区金融业科技峰会将探讨AI对金融业的影响

On Thursday, November 8, 2018 The Regional Municipality of York will host its second York Region FinTech Summit.

The summit brings together the GTA business community, thought leaders and industry professionals. Attendees will learn more about emerging trends and discuss the new technologies and solutions transforming the financial technology (FinTech) industry.

Approximately 250 attendees are expected to participate. Summit highlights will also be available on social media by following #YRfintech.

Keynote Address: A clear vision of the future financial landscape will be critical to good strategic and governance decisions as financial institutions around the world face growing competitive pressure to make major strategic investments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and policy makers seek to navigate the challenging regulatory and social uncertainties emerging globally.

This is according to the World Economic Forum’s new report on the impact of AI on financial services.

Denizhan Uykur, keynote speaker and a lead author of this report will speak to the key findings of that report, and provide unique insights and examples from the global conversations that made it possible.

Background
York Region’s tech sector is one of the largest in Canada employing over 60,000 professionals at over 4,300 technology companies. Home to the second largest Financial, Insurance and Accounting Services cluster in Ontario, York Region has over 2,900 businesses and approximately 40,000 sector related jobs.

York Region’s FinTech firms employ thousands of highly skilled people who are developing new technologies, processes, products and business models to benefit global businesses and consumers.
