15 Unique Ontario Activities to Enjoy From March 12 to 20

Have you ever wanted to be an undercover spy or meet a giant panda cub? Ontario offers those and hundreds of other fun activities that you and your family can take part in this March Break.

Get outside and explore a provincial park or learn something new at one of Ontario's world class museums. There are so many options to keep all Ontarians, young and old, excited during this busy time of year:

  • Excite your taste buds and learn a little history at Bronte Creek Provincial Park's annual Maple Syrup Festival. Heritage staff dress in historical attire and will immerse you in the history and culture of maple syrup.
  • Participate in a Natural Heritage Education program or work on that rosy glow on your cheeks as you enjoy a healthy hike along one of the many trails at Pinery Provincial Park.
  • Explore the magic of "the greatest show on earth" through the eyes of a scientist at the Ontario Science Centre's Circus! The Exhibition.
  • Meet the giant panda cubs Jia Panpan (Canadian Hope) and Jia Yueyue (Canadian Joy), and learn more about Canada's first giant pandas at the Toronto Zoo.
  • Learn how to dance at court like a knight or a princess at the Royal Ontario Museum'sDancing with the Elizabethan Stars.
  • Go undercover at the Diefenbunker near Ottawa and learn about what it takes to be a real secret agent at Spy Camp.
  • Take a theatrical 3-D journeywith Robin Hood and his Merry Men at the London Children's Museum.
  • Spend some time at Fort William Historical Park in Thunder Bay, with week-long camps filled with exciting games and activities including snowshoe adventures, sliding, crafts, science experiments and so much more.
  • Dream, design and create at Imaginate, Science North's new hands-on special exhibition.
  • Journey behind the Falls and see the amazing ice formations in the Niagara River up close or check out a movie at Old Fort Erie's March Break Matinees.
  • Visit the We Are the Insects exhibit at the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory to learn more about the important role played by insects in our environment.
  • Get close to nature by watching birds; or enjoy the last days of winter weather by cross- country skiing on groomed trails at the Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Morrisburg.
  • Print, paint and construct at the Art Gallery of Ontario's Imagination Playground.
  • Take on the Cross-Quetico Tour challenge at Quetico Provincial Park. Skiers travel at their own pace across the frozen canoe routes of the park. It's the perfect activity for cross-country skiing families.
