SUSPECT CHARGED FOLLOWING ARMED ROBBERY IN NEWMARKET
York Regional Police would like to thank the media and the public for the many tips that helped to locate a wanted man following an armed robbery in the Town of Newmarket.
On Friday, September 14, 2018, shortly before 8 p.m., a 17-year-old male approached an officer in the area of Eagle Street and Davis Drive and advised him that he had been the victim of an armed robbery. The victim said he had been approached by a man on United Circle, which is in the area of Yonge Street and Mulock Drive, who demanded his belongings. The suspect showed the victim a handgun and the victim complied.
Investigators received many tips and on Thursday, September 20, 2018, the accused was arrested at the court house in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Kevin BISHOP, 19, Town of Newmarket
Charges Include:
Robbery Using a Firearm
Pointing a Firearm
Assault With a Weapon Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
Uttering Threats
Mr. BISHOP was held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on September 27, 2018.
