A 24-year-old woman from Markham has pleaded guilty to Impaired Operation Causing Death andImpaired Operation Causing Bodily Harm and has been sentenced to 42 months in prison in connectionwith a 2016 fatal collision in the City of Markham.
On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, Jing Jing PAN pleaded guilty to the charges before the Honorable Justice Pirraglia. She also faces a five-year driving prohibition and a $400 victim surcharge.
On Friday, November 18, 2016, at approximately 3:05 a.m. York Regional Police responded to a singlevehicle collision in the area of 14th Avenue and Markham Road. Officers arrived on scene to find a white Range Rover Evoke with extensive damage.
A 17-year-old female passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 21-year-old female passenger and the then 22-year-old female driver were transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The condition of the driver improved and she was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
