"On February 16, 2017, Dr. Eric Hoskins, Minister of Health and Long-term Care, and I made a renewed commitment to negotiations with the Ontario Medical Association with an agreement to negotiating a binding interest arbitration process as the first order of business to achieving a new Physician Services Agreement.
Today we are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement on a process for binding interest arbitration between the Ontario government and the Ontario Medical Association has been reached. The tentative agreement will require ratification by the Ontario Medical Association membership.
Ontario's doctors are essential partners of a strong and sustainable health care system. Rebuilding a strong and productive relationship with Ontario's physicians is essential to increasing access to care, reducing wait times and improving the patient experience." |
