13th annual Family Fun Day and charity barbecue to be held in Town of Richmond Hill.
The Regional Municipality of York is hosting its annual Family Fun Day and open house on Saturday, May 27. Family Fun Day is a free, interactive, family-oriented event to celebrate National Public Works Week and promote public awareness of the many services operated by York Region.
National Public Works Week is May 21 to 27, 2017 and is recognized across North America as an opportunity to showcase public works services and how they connect our communities. This year’s theme is “Public Works Connects Us.”
Public works provides a variety of services communities depend on across York Region, including:

Providing clean and safe drinking water

Building and maintaining the Regional road network

Operating YRT/Viva transit services

Processing solid waste and increasing diversion rates

Maintaining and protecting the York Regional Forest
