小川乐出版自传“Gently to Nagasaki” 将在东亚图书馆论坛探讨“创伤、和解和希望”

加拿大日裔小说家、诗人小川乐出版了新作——自传“Gently to Nagasaki”。她将于10月28日在多伦多大学东亚图书馆的一个题为“和解的梦想”的论坛中探讨“创伤、和解和希望”。

小川乐出生于1935年。珍珠港事件后，加拿大政府将日裔加拿大关入集中营，年幼的小川乐和家人也被关入不列颠哥伦比亚省Kootenay的集中营。小川乐的代表作《欧巴桑》（Obasan）即讲述日裔加拿大人在二战时期被关入集中营的这段经历。加拿大政府于1988年承认错误，并对幸存者进行赔偿。

“和解的梦想”论坛的主讲嘉宾还有前国会议员邹至蕙和圣彼得教会约克-士嘉堡区域主教余天锡(Bishop Patrick Yu)。东亚图书馆馆长Hana Kim将主持和参与此论坛的讨论。
