编者按：密西沙加市首任桂冠诗人、中英文双语诗人星子安娜在该市庆祝广场举行的庆祝国庆节活动上朗诵了她专门为国庆节创作的诗歌，这也是她就任桂冠诗人后在市政府的大型活动中的首次亮相。她的诗题"Hello, Canada"，描述了人们欢度国庆节的情景和气氛，以及加拿大关顾弱者的价值观。

“Hello, Canada”

cool morning air

and crisp birdcalls

kick off this special day

glittering diamonds

roll on a green blanket

children hooray all the way

parade ahead –

cartoon figures from floats

blow kisses and dance along

music far and near…

lilacs scent and sweetness spreads

bubbles from bottles of beer

by the City Hall, the Mayor

waves to cheerful crowds…

our peaceful and welcome world

brushes touch up

flags on fresh faces

…O, Canada…in unison

sun shines candy clouds

carnival at Celebration Square

new and old friends meet

caring for the needy

young and old gather to share

…triple sweet

this is Canada, our Canada

fireworks bloom on night sky

a sound and sweet dream
