Canada Days continues at Nathan Phillips Square today featuring dvsn and Shad

Following two days of music and arts at Nathan Phillips Square, the free City-produced Canada Days music festival continues today from 3 to 11 p.m. with more than 20 performances spanning hip hop, R&B, soul and more. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display at 10:55 p.m. The full performance lineup is available at http://www.toronto.ca/canadadays

Canada Days is part of the City's TO Canada with Love year-long program of more than 30 celebrations, commemorations and exhibitions marking Canada's 150th birthday.

Date: Sunday, July 2
Time: 3 to 11 p.m.
Location: Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. W.

Media logistics note: Arrangements for artist and spokesperson interviews must be made in advance through the media contact listed below. Members of the media are advised to arrive early to set-up as space is limited. An audio feed will be available at the media riser, located 40 metres directly in front of the Main Stage.

Canada Days at Nathan Phillips Square features three performance stages offering music, dance, circus and street arts for the public to enjoy. Main Stage performers for July 2 are: 

• The Sorority, 3 p.m. – Four female emcees lead the charge with a high-energy spin on modern-day hip hop.
• Shauit, 4 p.m. – Northern Quebec-based artist blends reggae and pop with his native language, Innu.
• Zaki Ibrahim, 5:15 p.m. – One of Canada's most iconic underground singers and songwriters of soul music. 
• Roots of the 6ix, 6:30 p.m. – A showcase of Canada's pioneers of hip hop featuring iconic rappers Maestro Fresh Wes, Michie Mee, Dream Warriors with DJ Ron Nelson and The Dirty B-Sides.
• Shad, 8:15 p.m. – Juno Award-winner and one of Canada's most beloved rappers, takes the stage with his feel-good hip-hop sound. 
• dvsn, 9:55 p.m. – Drake's OVO Sounds label R&B duo blend warm harmonies, lush beats and cinematic soundscapes. 

A hospitality area offering food and beverage for purchase will be available. Alcoholic beverages will be available for individuals 19 and older. Valid photo identification must be provided.

The City of Toronto is committed to presenting an accessible event. An accessible viewing area and a sign-language interpreter will be provided onsite. Information about accessibility at the event is available at http://ow.ly/WInN30cYV8c.

A series of roads will be closed for the Canada Days festival at Nathan Phillips Square on July 2. These roads include:
• Bay Street between Dundas Street to Richmond Street from noon to 1 a.m. 
• Queen Street from Yonge Street to University Avenue from noon to 1 a.m.
• Elizabeth Street, Hagerman Street and Albert Street from noon to 1 a.m. due to the nightly fireworks display. 
• York Street between Queen Street and Richmond Street (local traffic only) from noon to 1 a.m. 

Additional road closures may be required to manage pedestrian traffic during the event. A full list of road closures for the Canada Day long-weekend is available at http://www.toronto.ca/roadrestrictions
